The Complete Energy Recovery System

Selecting the right combination of modules, from a stand-alone energy wheel to the full TRICOIL® package, produces just the right system for your application with all the duct connections in the right places. Berner can build systems that are unparalleled in quality and efficiency. Systems are whole unit ETL/UL labeled. On board controls for stand alone operation or automated building control interface are available. The condensing units can be mounted and piped for a single power point connection.

Modular Design

Berner’s modular design allows custom built quality at standard pricing.

  • Standard production incorporates a welded interior aluminum frame for mounting of all components.
  • Professional engineering has produced compact yet easily serviced equipment that frees up valuable mechanical room real estate.
  • Modules can be broken apart to add heating and cooling at any time. Unit modules can be shipped as a package or individually for on-site assembly.
  • All panels are mounted separately on each individual module to allow removal for total access to interior components.

A - ROOF CURB & ISOLATION RAIL
Entire unit is vibration isolated for enhanced noise reduction and leveling capability.

B - FILTER MODULE
Racks are constructed to accommodate any type 2” pleated pre-filters and 12” MERV rated final cartridges. Side access hinged door with storage clips and filter hook is standard. Service lights, filter gauges, charcoal and chemical pellet filters are optional.

C - EXHAUST FAN MODULE
The lower triangular plenum houses the exhaust fan assembly and discharges the air outside through a back draft damper. The upper triangular plenum houses the fresh air inlet and the 2”, 30-30 filter(s) when a filter module is not present.

D - ENTHALPY WHEEL MODULE
The desiccant-coated corrugated aluminum rotor exchanges temperature and humidity between in-coming and out-going air streams. Provides up to 50°F of FREE HEATING; 15°F of FREE COOLING and, minimum 30% FREE (DE)HUMIDIFICATION.

E - COOLING / HEATING COIL MODULE
This compact coil module is only 36” deep. Universal piping design can approach coils from front, back, either end, or the bottom. The coils are cradled inside the coil well with an insulated aluminum drain pan and internal p-trap.

F - SUPPLY FAN MODULE
The upper triangular plenum houses the supply fan assembly and supplies the building with conditioned air. The return / exhaust air enters through the control damper and continues through the open lower triangular plenum.

G - BERNER TRICOIL® MODULE
This coil arrangement reduces up to 2/3 the tonnage required to condition outside air. A fractional hp pump is used to operate the run around loop. This provides precooling and reheating to boost the dehumidification capacity of the air conditioning coils. The DX or chilled water coils are included in the package. The reheat controls relative humidity to help prevent mold and mildew.
